Our tours focus on Charleston’s Jewish history and heritage, but we also cover the wider history of the city — from its colonial roots to the Civil War and beyond. Along the way, we explore how Jewish life intersected with Charleston’s broader story, including topics like immigration, community leadership, and, where appropriate, the complex and often difficult history of Jewish involvement in slavery. Our goal is to provide a thoughtful, well-rounded perspective on Charleston’s past. Learn more about historical Jewish sites in Charleston here.
